Relationship Manager, Accreditation UK National Museums (MCPF41)
Contract: Fixed Term until 31 March 2026, working 35 hours per week.(Arts Council also recognises the benefit of flexible working as a valued part of the way we work, and welcome applications from individuals who require flexibility)
Salary: £36,987 per annum plus benefits including a final salary pension scheme, generous annual leave, and flexible and hybrid working.
Location: Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Nottingham, Bristol or Cambridge (The role will be based at any of the offices listed however, we are operating a hybrid way of working and support our staff to make use of remote working options when combined with regular on-site contact days with other members of the team, normally 1-2 days a week)
Arts Council England is looking for an enthusiastic advocate of culture and creativity to fill the full-time role of Relationship Manager and join our supportive and inclusive museum and cultural property team.
This Relationship Manager role comes with a salary of £36,987. The role will be based in one of the listed offices, however, we operate a hybrid structure. Some travel across the UK will be required.
We are looking for someone who has a passion for arts and culture, enjoys building relationships, has an in-depth knowledge of museum accreditation, and can advise National museums on how to evidence that they reach this standard.
If you were currently doing this job, you would contribute to the following:
- The work of the Museums & Cultural Property team with its focus on improving opportunities for people to engage with high quality museums and collections.
- Insights gained from National museums as well as your career to date to help us develop our service approach to delivering and developing MCP museum and collections schemes.
- Advice to external colleagues in UK National museums delivering targeted advice on what the Accreditation requirements mean for them.
- Relationship management with colleagues in our partner organisations – Northern Ireland Museums Council, Museums Galleries Scotland and the Welsh Government.
- Assessment of applications from National museums for Accreditation.
To apply, you will need:
- Excellent communication and people skills to build relationships.
- Knowledge of UK museum governance and practice to bring credibility and authority to the role.
- Excellent writing and analysis skills to provide good quality insightful Accreditation assessments.
- Experience of using data tools effectively to track impact and identify trends. You will manage data in line with data protection regulations and internal policies.
We are looking for someone organised and excited by a varied workload who brings attention to detail and an ability to filter key points from lots of information.
