Contract: Fixed term until 31 March 2026, working 17.5 hours per week (Arts Council also recognises the benefit of flexible working as a valued part of the way we work, and welcome applications from individuals who require flexibility)

 

Salary: £61,102 (pro rata) per annum plus benefits including a final salary pension scheme, generous annual leave, and flexible and hybrid working. 

 

Location: Birmingham (The role will be based in Birmingham; however, we are operating a hybrid way of working and support our staff to make use of remote working options when combined with regular on-site contact days with other members of the team, normally 1-2 days a week) 

 

 

As a Director in Area with responsibility for oversight of Birmingham and the West Midlands your remit will include strategy and operational delivery in area. You will line-manage staff as well as working closely with the other Director in the Midlands and colleagues across the organisation. You will take a leadership role at Midlands Area Management Team meetings and bring Area perspective into National meetings where you represent us. You will provide visible leadership in the Birmingham office and attend key sector events or visits. You will be responsible for attending a range of senior level meetings both scheduled and ad hoc, representing local, regional and area matters. Your leadership will embody our commitment to Let’s Create and in a more granular way our priorities within the Delivery Plan.  You will contribute to the organisation’s understanding of diversity and its implications for arts and culture, promoting a diversity perspective in all aspects of the organisation’s objectives and activities.
