Retail Team Leader

What we need in a nutshell

We want someone who will lead the retail team in ensuring our guests feel that holiday thrill when they spend time in the on-site bar, café and shop.

We're not your average holiday company. Our guests come to our UK resorts to experience a world away from their day-to-day. When they are with us, they play crazy games, enjoy show-stopping entertainment and live in the moment. Our job is to surprise and delight them at every turn.

We need you to be the person who leads our holiday heroes to deliver delight when our guests are feeling peckish, enjoying a drink or browsing for the perfect souvenir; keeping the bar, café and shop welcoming, pristine and safe.

What you will be doing

Reporting to the Retail Manager you will be responsible for the running  the Village Store

This includes;

  • providing excellence in customer service and supporting team members in delivering this
  • accurate cash control, including daily cash procedures and weekly checks
  • stock control, to including ordering from authorised suppliers and minimising stock loss
  • maintaining shop standards to a high level whilst adhering to health & safety procedures

One more thing…holidays happen at holiday times, so you’ll need to work your magic on bank holidays, evenings and weekends too.

What you'll also be doing, is being incredibly friendly, answering guests' questions and making sure that everyone is having a great time. You want to be remembered by the guests as being one of the outstanding heroes of their holiday.

One more thing...holidays happen at holiday times, so you will need to work your magic on bank holidays too.

Skills, experience and qualities you'll need

There's lots of training on offer but you will need:

  • Experience in a similar role within Retail.
  • An eye for detail
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • To be a natural born leader and a role model, someone to look up to.
  • Willingness to learn and share your knowledge with others.

It's about your values too. We have a can-do, fun loving, people centred ethos here at Away Resorts, which is captured by our holiday heroes' mantra of Attentive Amazing Lovers - if that's fired up your curiosity, have a read about it here and decide if it describes you.

Nice to have but not essential

It would be great if you tick some of these boxes too (but we won't hold it against you if you don't).

  • Level 2 food safety and hygiene certificate.
  • BIIAB level 2 award for personal licence holders.
