What you’ll be doing

As part of our team of holiday heroes, you will help the Park Operations Manager to ensure everything is in good working order as well as inspiring the rest of the maintenance team as a team leader. Your work will include:

  • Leading and Supporting the Maintenance Team - Providing daily direction, allocating tasks, and ensuring the team works efficiently to deliver high standards across lodges, hot tubs, and facilities.
  • Maintaining Lodges and Facilities - Carrying out and overseeing routine repairs, planned preventative maintenance, and urgent reactive works to keep the park safe, functional, and guest-ready.
  • Quality & Safety Ownership - Conducting regular inspections to ensure compliance with health & safety standards, keeping accurate records, and ensuring all work meets legislative and brand requirements.
  • Working Collaboratively Across Departments - Communicating with Guest Services, Housekeeping, and the wider park teams to respond to issues quickly, minimise downtime, and support an excellent guest experience.
  • Training, Coaching & Growing Your Team - Developing the skills of Maintenance Heroes through on-the-job training, mentoring, and constructive feedback to build a confident and capable team.

Guests and staff will look to you to fix what’s broken and restore order, so you will need to be confident, friendly and obliging in addition to your practical skills.

One more thing…holidays happen at holiday times, so you’ll need to work your magic on bank holidays, evenings and weekends too.

Skills, experience, and qualities you’ll need

We will train you, but you’ll need to have the following skills and experience to apply for this role:

  • An understanding of Health & Safety at work
  • Full Driving Licence

Add in the ability to think for yourself and be proactive, great people skills, unfailing enthusiasm and extremely high standards of craftsmanship - if you’ve got all that, you’re in the running.

We have a can-do, people-centred ethos at Away Resorts, and we look for certain qualities in our team members. Have a read about it and see if you fit the bill.
