Cafe & Barista Team

What we are looking for

We need someone who understands that food is central to a happy holiday. We offer half board breaks here at Mill Rythe along with our onsite Café that opens daily to serve tea/coffee and light snacks through the afternoon and evening.

We are looking for Holiday Heroes to work in our Café that are confident FOH using our tills and LavAzza barista along with prepping/cooking light meals in our Café.

Some of the background

We’re not your average holiday company. Our guests come to our UK resorts to experience a world away from their day-to-day. When they are with us, they play crazy games, enjoy show-stopping entertainment and live in the moment. Our job is to surprise and delight them at every turn.

We need you to be the person who delivers delight every day when guests rock up to our Complex. You will have a cheery hello for whether you are serving up knickerbocker glories or pulling the pints.

The nitty gritty of what you’ll be doing

As part of our Café team, you will be working to ensure everybody is fed, watered and having a good time.  This includes:

  • Meeting and greetings guests with a friendly welcome
  • Taking food orders on our till system and making sure everyone gets what they asked for
  • Prepping snacks like sandwiches and sandwich fillings, cooking light meals like paninis and burgers while sticking to our food specifications, ensuring all “grab and go” items are fully stocked at all times
  • Using our barista machine to ensure we serve our LavAzza range to spec
  • Keeping your area clean and tidy, this is a food area and we must ensure we are hygienic at all times
  • Generally making sure everybody is having a great time

One more thing…holidays happen at holiday times and eating and drinking goes on in into the night, so you’ll need to work your magic on bank holidays, evenings and weekends too.

Skills, experience and qualities you’ll need

We have high standards! We’ll train you up, but you must:

  • Have customer service experience and skills
  • Relish the fast pace of a busy environment
  • Be someone who does things without needing to be asked
  • Be a people person; easy to talk to and never happy until your guests are

It’s about your values too. We have a can-do, fun loving, people centred ethos here at Away Resorts, which is captured by our holiday heroes’ mantra of Attentive Amazing Lovers.

Nice to have but not essential

It would be great if you tick some of these boxes too (but we won’t hold it against you if you don’t).

  • Experience of working in a similar F & B role (whether that be café, kitchen or even waiting on)
  • Experience of working in the holiday sector
  • Food Hygiene level 2
