What you’ll be doing

You will be in the thick of the action with your team, ensuring that meals are prepped, cooked and served to our exacting standards, from the simplest salad to the seasonal specials.  This includes:

  • Assuming responsibility for consistent and prompt food preparation and ensuring all our meals meet our high standards
  • Helping the team to comply with agreed specifications of all dishes, ensuring correct portion sizes are followed and waste is closely managed
  • Ensuring safe, clean, hygienic and tidy workspaces within the kitchen, always complying with all food hygiene and safety regulations
  • Helping to control food margins through effective stock management, knowledge of product specifications and team coaching

One more thing…holidays happen at holiday times, so you’ll need to work your magic on bank holidays and weekends too.

Skills, experience and qualities you’ll need

We are looking for an experienced chef who is an enthusiastic team player and can demonstrate the following:

  • Level Two Hygiene Certificate
  • 1-2 years’ experience working as a line cook, commis chef or chef de partie
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Good organisation skills and able to identify and solve problems
  • A real passion for food, and bags of enthusiasm
  • Resilience under pressure

It’s the icing on the cake if you have kitchen experience on a busy holiday park and you have experience of supervising others.

We have a can-do, people-centred ethos at Away Resorts, and we look for certain qualities in our team members. Have a read about it and see if you fit the bill.

What we can offer you

This is an exciting role as a key member in our F&B team, and we look after you with a great range of benefits, including:
