Maintenance Team Leader

Location: St Ives Bay Beach Resort, Hayle, Cornwall

Hours of work: 40 Hours per week - Permanent Contract

Salary: £27,500 per annum

What we need in a nutshell

We need someone who will keep our grounds and park in tip-top condition and looking spectacular by cutting, maintaining, renewing and improving everything from the entrance signage to the back fence.

We need you to be the person who delivers delight to our guests by ensuring everything across the park, looks great around the grounds.

Who are we?

At Away Resorts we’re a growing company, shaking up the Great British holiday. St Ives Bay is a 120-acre site nestled in the sand dunes. With private access to a 3-mile long, sandy beach and stunning views over to St Ives, it is already a great place to be and with significant plans for the future, this is a very exciting time to be part of the team as we move towards developing all the facilities people have come to expect from an Away Resorts site.

What you’ll be doing

As part of our team of holiday heroes, you will help the Park Services Manager to ensure everything is in good working order as well as inspiring the rest of the grounds team as a team leader. Your work will include:

• Landscaping, including paving and fencing
• Grass cutting and strimming
• Leading the team in day-to-day operations

Guests and staff will look to you to fix what’s broken and restore order, so you will need to be confident, friendly and obliging in addition to your practical skills.

One more thing…holidays happen at holiday times, so you’ll need to work your magic on bank holidays, evenings and weekends too.

Skills, experience, and qualities you’ll need

We will train you, but you’ll need to have the following skills and experience to apply for this role:

• An understanding of Health & Safety at work
• Full Driving Licence

Add in the ability to think for yourself and be proactive, great people skills, unfailing enthusiasm and extremely high standards of craftsmanship - if you’ve got all that, you’re in the running.
