Lifeguard

Location: Sandy Balls Holiday Village, Fordingbridge, New Forest. 

Hours of work: Variable Hours - Seasonal Contract

Salary: £12.21 per hour. Paid weekly.

What we need in a nutshell

We want our guests to enjoy a whale of a time down at the pool and to be safe too, so we need qualified lifeguards who have outstanding people skills.

Sandy Balls Holiday Village is a world away from your day to day, with more trees than you can… well, shake a stick at. We have resident alpacas, a bush-craft school and forest laser tag, along with the usual holiday heroes of cycling and swimming. But New Forest holidays are also about tranquillity, which is why our Retreat spa and cosy, cottage-style lodges and caravans are here to help our guests unwind.

What you’ll be doing

You will be the go to person at poolside. Ensuring all our guests have fun while being safe and:

• Carrying out Pool Safety Checks
• Ensuring our Pool & Surrounding Areas are kept in clean conditions

Skills, experience and qualities you’ll need

There’s lots of training on offer but you will need:

• A valid NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification) – although we can provide training, but you will need to pass our swimming tests first.
• Fantastic interpersonal skills – you’ll need to be assertive as well as friendly
• To be naturally vigilant and helpful - guests come first, so you need to be alert to their needs as well as their safety

If your application is successful, you’ll have to apply for an Enhanced DBS. We need to be happy that this, together other information we may request, is all in order before you can join the team.
