Chip Shop Assistant Manager

Chip Shop Assistant Manager

We are now recruiting for our 2025 summer season across various roles on our beautiful Lincolnshire based holiday park, join our large team of hospitality professionals today.

Location: Tattershall Lakes Country Park, Lincolnshire

Hours of work: 40 Hours - Permanent

Salary: £27,000

What we are looking for

We’re on the lookout for an experienced Assistant Manager from a chip shop or food & beverage background to help lead our award-winning venue, Catch 22, through another successful summer season. You’ll support the Food & Beverage Manager in making this venue a standout success—both commercially and in guest experience—by combining creativity, operational excellence, and brilliant team leadership.

You’ll need a can-do attitude, a keen eye for detail, and outstanding people skills. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays is a must.

Catch 22 has been serving sustainably sourced fish and local chips to our hungry holidaymakers since 2022. With a strong, established front and back-of-house team, plus the introduction of kiosk ordering and kitchen screens last year, we’re all about great service, speed, and quality.

What you’ll be doing

Working as part of our team of Holiday Heroes, you will be supporting the Food & Beverage Manager and making sure that our guests experience the best possible time with us.  This includes:

  • Leading, training, and motivating a team to deliver delight.
  • Overseeing the smooth running of the venue, the preparation for service, as well as overseeing service and supervising the after-service duties.
  • Working alongside the team in a fast paced, high-volume venue with a constant eye on delivering world class service.
  • Driving revenue through service and sales whilst having an eye on profitable growth, delivered with care and flair.
  • Controlling margin through careful stock management and stock reconciliation through weekly stocktakes.
  • Supporting and standing in for the Food and Beverage Manager

One more thing…holidays happen at holiday times and eating, and drinking goes on in into the night, so you’ll need to work your magic on bank holidays, evenings, and weekends too.

Skills, experience, and qualities you’ll need

We have high standards! We’ll train you up, but you must:

  • Have previous management experience in a Food & Beverage environment
  • Show evidence of your superb people management skills
  • Have an eye for detail, a head for business and a mindset for innovation
  • Have knowledge and experience of catering and its many challenges
  • Have energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude

Nice to have but not essential

It would be great if you tick some of these boxes too (but we will not hold it against you if you don’t).

  • Know your profit and loss from your balance sheet and be able to control costs and grow profit
  • Level 2 in Food safety
  • Personal licence
  • Experience of working in the holiday sector

It’s about your values too. We have a can-do, fun loving, people centred ethos here at Away Resorts, which is captured by our holiday heroes’ mantra of Attentive Amazing Lovers – if that’s fired up your curiosity, have a read about it here and decide if it describes you.
