What is the role?

We are looking for a Head Housekeeper to manage our friendly housekeeping team at our beautiful nursing home in Alton, a busy market town in Hampshire, surrounded by stunning countryside and close to the town centre.

It's a full-time contract - 37.5 hours per week, and working alternate weekends.

Who are you?

You need to have experience as a domestic assistant/cleaner outside your home. In addition, you will need to demonstrate a flexible attitude to work, be reliable, have a caring disposition towards older people, and be able to make a difference in their day.

Everyone who works at Brendoncare is in regular contact with our residents, and as Head Housekeeper, you and your team will be in their rooms, living, dining and activity areas. Building those relationships is part of enabling them to live well and make the most of every day.

What will I be doing?

  • Liaise with Residents and/or Relatives to identify residents' wishes regarding laundry, room cleaning, and personal effects.

  • Produce, implement, review, and continually improve daily, weekly, and monthly schedules of work for cleaning and less frequent tasks.
  • Undertake ordering and maintain stock levels of cleaning chemicals, tools, machinery, and equipment, including periodically auditing the condition of all equipment in your department and organising repairs or requesting replacements as required.
  • Monitor the laundry to ensure that it is operating as efficiently.
  • Carry out Risk Assessments
  • Ensure that COSHH regulations are maintained.
