THE ROLE

The primary role of the Consultant is to provide design and deployment of technical solutions and services to CAE’s customers.

You will be working with our presales and PMO teams, and as the consultant, will takes ownership of the delivery of technical solutions within our client base.

The role may include secondment onto customer sites for longer term contracts for BAU / support activities and project work.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING?

  • Installation of solutions and services as designed either by presales, themselves or another member of the professional services team
  • Create detailed documentation of all tasks undertaken
  • Provide technical presales support to our agile sales team, which includes:
    • Attendance to customer meetings/presentations
    • Creation of proposals, BOM’s and solution and service designs
    • Creation of high and low-level designs
    • Peer review deliverables as required
  • Ensuring daily ticket and project updates including timesheet entries
  • Adherence to all departmental operational processes and policies
  • Support the service desk in providing customer support as diary allows

As a Consultant you will need to be outgoing, highly organised, disciplined and adaptable with excellent communication skills. You must be willing to get stuck in with day-to-day operational tasks, handle high volumes of work and run multiple work streams.

In addition to this you must:

  • Be able to communicate at all levels of an organisation to CTO level
  • Be able to adapt your communication style to the audience you are presented with
  • Demonstrate the ability to build cross-departmental relationships (sales, managed services, PMO etc)
  • Be able to work equally as part of a team (with Project Managers, other consultants etc) or alone depending on the engagement type with a client
  • Have a keen eye for detail ensuring accuracy in all BOM’s, proposals and documentation
  • Be passionate about the technology that you recommend and install
  • Have a keen eye for detail and observational skills
  • Be able to work to deadlines
  • Be confident and approachable
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Self-motivated, the ability to work proactively on your own initiative and prioritise your work
  • Strong problem-solving skills

WHAT IS NEEDED?

Cloud Technologies – Must be strong in at least one of the following core technologies

  • Office 365 Modern Workplace components / M365

Including: Hybrid Exchange email, EMS suite, OneDrive/SharePoint, Azure AD

Assessments, migrations and installations

  • Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS design, migrations, assessments and deployments

DESIRED

Traditional Technologies (Advantageous not required)

  • Experience of Active Directory installation, configuration and administration
  • Microsoft Exchange 2003 – 2016
  • Experience of MS Exchange installation, configuration and administration
  • Exchange upgrades and migrations
  • Server migrations or reconfigurations including P2V, V2V cross platform, P2P
  • Experience of installing and configuring Windows server 2003 – 2016
  • Microsoft Server roles Stack
  • Microsoft System Centre – SCCM, SCVMM – (others would be advantageous)
  • Virtualisation technologies – VMware and Hyper-V in clustered/HA environments
  • Backup technologies such as Veeam, Symantec
  • Microsoft Certifications
  • Any other vendor qualifications (VMware, Citrix, Veeam)
