The Role – Customer Strategic Lead

The Customer Strategic Lead will operate within one of CAE’s premier customer accounts, this role requires a candidate with strong technical and strategic experience to manage an operation that integrates multiple technologies in a diverse IT landscape. Candidates should have a track record of working in a high-performing environment, coupled with a strong ability to connect technology with business strategy, additionally while the role does not carry any line management responsibility candidates will be expected to motivate, inspire and mentor a team of IT professionals.

The ideal candidate excels in high-stakes, time-sensitive environments and brings a comprehensive understanding of the current technology landscape. They should be skilled at advising both business stakeholders and team members while maintaining a solid technical foundation for collaborating with internal and external partners. This role includes involvement in key projects to enable the Customer to grow and expand their operations.

**This role is home based with regular travel to client site in London**

What you will be doing?

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute technology strategies that align with the company's business goals and objectives
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations and implement robust security measures to protect company data and systems
  • Customer Management: Work closely with the Customers’ CTO and Head of IT by supporting them to achieve their goals. Maintaining key relationship in the business to ensure adherence to Company Policies and driving digital transformation projects
  • Business Intelligence: Lead the development and implementation of business intelligence strategies to provide actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making
  • Internal IT Infrastructure: Oversee the maintenance, upgrade, and management of the company's internal IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security
  • Internal Systems: Manage and enhance internal systems to support business operations, including a number of key enterprise applications
  • Major Incident Management – Leading, directing and managing both the technical teams and the customer during Major Incidents both in and out of hours
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and partners to ensure the delivery of high-quality technology solutions and services
  • Budget Management: Ensure cost-effective use of resources and adherence to financial targets
  • Team Building: Mentor and develop the dedicated IT team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth

What is Needed?

  • Extensive working experience supporting Microsoft Server OS including AD & Group Policy
  • Microsoft Exchange Administration/Support including Office365 Hybrid configurations
  • Office365 Administration/Support including Exchange/Teams/SharePoint 
  • Previous Experience using an ITSM Platform e.g. Autotask, Service-Now
  • Exposure to Microsoft Azure or AWS
  • Virtualisation technologies (Hyper-V, VMware)
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware faults (Servers, Blades, SANs) and working with Vendors to resolve
  • Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role, preferably within an IT reseller or managed services environment
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, internal systems, and business intelligence tools
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment specific to the Finance industry
  • Ability to maintain a working knowledge of the latest technological advances and challenge
  • Excellent time-management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks to cope with the multifaceted nature of the job
  • Microsoft Certifications (Associate Level +)

Desired

  • Experience with Windows/Application deployment software such as Intune/Autopilot
  • Experience with SaaS monitoring solutions (LogicMonitor, ScienceLogic, SolarWinds)
  • Office 365 Identity Management, Security & Compliance
  • Exposure to Linux based systems
  • Experience with the presales associated tasks and the ability to scope business requirements and mitigate possible impact
  • Experience with Stakeholder management
  • VMware VCP
  • ITIL Foundation
  • Prince 2
