Salesforce Administrator

The Salesforce Administrator reports to the Head of IT Operations and is responsible for the day-to-day configuration, support, maintenance, and improvement of the CRM. Working closely with the Head of Sales Operations and Sales Management team and marketing staff, the administrator will identify, develop, and deploy new business processes. This role is a technical role forming part of the IT Operations Team

The Role

The Salesforce Administrator reports to the Head of IT Operations and is responsible for the day-to-day configuration, support, maintenance, and improvement of the CRM. Working closely with the Head of Sales Operations and Sales Management team and marketing staff, the administrator will identify, develop, and deploy new business processes. This role is a technical role forming part of the IT Operations Team.

A successful candidate will be joining CAE at an exciting time as we are on the verge of a digital transformation where we are consolidating our main systems into an integrated business system allowing us to scale the system while the business grows. 

What you will be doing?

The main duties and responsibilities of the role shall include:

  • Serve as primary system administrator for the Salesforce Org with 150+ users
  • Focus the organization’s use of data towards what best serves the mission
  • Handle all basic administrative functions including user maintenance, modification of page layouts, generation of reports and dashboards, creation of new fields and other routine tasks
  • Gather detailed requests for improvements or changes to the system, and implement these changes as appropriate
  • Automate processes using Salesforce tools such as process builder, approval processes, validation rules, and
  • Manage Salesforce integrations
  • Identify, install, and maintain appropriate apps from the AppExchange for event management, mass email, donation handling, and more
  • Train champion users to assist in growing the Salesforce skill set across the organization
  • Document customizations made in Salesforce
  • Plan for upgrades, seasonal releases, and long-term projects
  • Oversee Salesforce (or other CRM) Development, researching opportunities to improve efficiency
  • Manage delivery of Salesforce projects from conception to completion including communication and ensuring update and maintenance
  • Assist Head of Sales Operations and Accounts Admin Manager in the delivery of all required reports

What is needed?

  • Excellent project management skills and a positive attitude
  • Excellent governance over system change control
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, and handle and prioritize simultaneous requests
  • Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to critically evaluate and prioritize information gathered from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts
  • Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on Salesforce and other integrated systems
  • Thorough experience of Workflows / Process Builder / Flow
  • Ability to customise objects and page layouts
  • Object hardening with validation rules
  • Salesforce Administrator

Desired

  • Strong understanding of the Salesforce platform, with the ability to build custom apps and objects, formula fields, processes, custom views, and other content of intermediate complexity preferred
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce best practices and functionality preferred
  • Minimum two years of experience as a Salesforce administrator preferred
  • Experience with Visualforce pages
  • Experience with Apex Triggers / Classes
  • Multiple Org experience
  • Experience with integration with external systems
  • Experience with Salesforce CPQ
  • Salesforce Advanced Administrator
  • CPQ Specialist
