Carewatch is pleased to announce that we are recruiting TWO Area Supervisors to join our established team, supporting multiple Extra Care services across Sheffield. This is a key leadership role focused on maintaining high-quality, safe, and person-centred care while supporting both service users and care staff across several schemes.


Salary & Benefits

  • £26,693 per annum
  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm
  • 25 days annual leave (pro rata) plus bank holidays
  • Standby duty once every 2–3 weekends
    • A standby payment is provided
    • Any care calls completed during standby are paid in addition to the standby fee

  • Based across multiple Extra Care facilities throughout Sheffield
  • Main administrative base: Carewatch Head Office, Tapton House Road, Sheffield, S10 5BY
  • Travel between schemes is required in line with service needs

About the Role

As an Area Supervisor, you will oversee the day‑to‑day delivery of care across multiple Extra Care schemes, ensuring high standards of care, compliance, and staff support. You will act as a key link between care staff, service users, families, and the wider Carewatch team.

This is a hands‑on role requiring strong leadership, organisational skills, and a genuine commitment to supporting people to live well and safely.


Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing service users and care staff across multiple Extra Care facilities
  • Supporting, supervising, and mentoring care staff, including spot checks and performance monitoring
  • Coordinating and supporting care delivery using Access Care Planning and People Planner
  • Acting as a point of contact for service users, families, and professionals
  • Supporting staffing and rota arrangements, including covering care calls in emergency situations
  • Ensuring accurate, up‑to‑date records are maintained on electronic care systems
  • Monitoring care quality, compliance, and risk across services
  • Supporting investigations, audits, and service improvement actions
  • Participating in the standby rota once every 2–3 weekends
  • Working collaboratively with Care Coordinators, Managers, and the wider Carewatch team

About You

We are looking for someone who:

·         Has previous experience working in a care setting (for example domiciliary care, extra care, nursing, or another related care environment); experience in a supervisory, senior carer, or care coordination role is desirable but not essential

  • Is confident using electronic care management systems
  • Has excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Is kind, approachable, and professional
  • Works well under pressure and can manage multiple priorities
  • Is proactive, reliable, and solution‑focused

Essential UK Requirements

  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
  • Willingness to travel between services within a reasonable distance
  • Ability to pass:
    • Enhanced DBS check
    • Relevant reference checks
  • Good standard of spoken and written English
