Receptionist

Conservative Campaign Headquarters are looking for a proactive and professional Receptionist to join us at our London office, where you will be responsible for the smooth day‑to‑day running of our reception area and providing essential administrative support across the Party.
 
Role responsibilities

• Meet and greet visitors to ensure they have signed in and feel welcome
• Provide a professional approach to all incoming calls and re-directing messages
• Update calendars and book meeting rooms
• Dealing with reception email requests
• Direct visitors to the appropriate office and person
• Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing post and deliveries as and when required
• Ensure the reception area is tidy and presentable
• Control access via the reception desk (monitor the logbook, issue visitor badges)
• Perform other clerical receptionist duties to support the wider business
• Perform other administrative Building Operation tasks when required
• Look to gain professional qualifications in the area of facilities management to improve your understanding and ability to support the team.
Other
• Assist with ad-hoc projects as required by the needs of the team and the Party.
• Provide holiday and sickness cover for other members of the team
• The role may be required to work evenings and weekends in accordance with the needs of the Party e.g. During Elections or to support weekend training or events.
• Establish and maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholders

Professional experience and qualifications

• Experience of working in a busy front of house role and running a reception desk
• Experience of providing administration support to senior colleagues in a working environment
• First Aid qualified

Skills required

• A professional and personable manner. Confident to act as the first point of contact for the organisation
• Polite, immaculately presented and helpful
• Strong organisational skills and an ability to adapt to change according to requirements at the time
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with a good telephone manner
• Good IT skills and comfortable and proficient with Microsoft Office solutions
• A fast learner with an ability to multi-task
• Able to work independently and as part of a wider team
• Can work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Able to remain confidential and discrete at all times
• Self- motivated, with a willingness to learn and ability to use initiative
