Venue Receptionist

The Events team focus on delivering the highest levels of guest satisfaction through service and value for money for both our corporate and leisure events. We offer a themed and seasonal programme of entertainment for our guests, conferences and seminars for external clients and internal corporate and social events for our colleagues.

EVENTS RECEPTIONIST | £11.60 per hour 

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact and will provide a professional, prompt and friendly service to all persons arriving at our conference centre - The Venue.

In this role, you report to the Corporate Events Manager; ensuring that any queries and requirements are dealt with promptly and professionally. The ideal candidate will have a polite, friendly and efficient manner, have a good working knowledge of IT systems and be experienced in general administration duties.

This is a varied role and whilst your main responsibilities will be working on the reception, you may also be required to support in the service delivery of our conferences and events.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Meeting and greeting guests and visitors and assisting with their needs
  • Undertaking administrative tasks and producing information packs for delegate’s arrival
  • Maintaining a high standard of presentation in the reception area, including ensuring marketing materials and signage are accurate for each client
  • Liaising with the B2B operations and sales coordinator regarding any client concerns or complaints so they can be resolved quickly
  • Supporting the front of house team to ensure all events are delivered successfully

This is a great introductory role for someone looking to move into an events role. Full training in all aspects of the operation will be provided to enable you to support the team.

HOURS OF WORK

You will be contracted to work 120 hours per 4-week period with flexibility over various hours.

As our village is open 365 days of the year, your working hours will include public / bank holidays and during Christmas and / or New Year on a rota basis.

ABOUT YOU

Essential requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, naturally friendly
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Previous experience in a customer/guest facing role or in the corporate events industry
  • The ability to work well alone and as part of a team
  • The ability to perform well under pressure
  • Competent knowledge of MS Office and Outlook

Desirable requirements:

  • Previous experience undertaking general office administration and data entry
