OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN | Circa £27,500 per annum

We’re looking for an Occupational Health Technician to join our on-site First Aid and Occupational Health Centre – a friendly team that supports colleague health across the village.

You’ll be a vital link in our Occupational Health service - bringing people, systems and activities together to support colleague wellbeing in a safe, professional environment. You’ll help deliver essential health surveillance and screening services - including hearing and vision checks, blood pressure monitoring and respiratory assessments - and make sure everything runs like clockwork behind the scenes.

You’ll also be involved in planning and promoting wellbeing initiatives, supporting flu clinics, managing stock and equipment and acting as a first point of contact for Occupational Health queries.

Key responsibilities as Occupational Health Technician include:

  • Delivering health surveillance (e.g. audiometry, vision screening, skin assessments, blood pressure checks and respiratory protective equipment fitting)
  • Supporting health and wellbeing campaigns across the village
  • Coordinating flu clinics and managing appointments via our shared inbox
  • Administering health questionnaires and escalating referrals appropriately
  • Maintaining accurate, GDPR-compliant records and inputting clinical data
  • Carrying out equipment checks and keeping supplies well-stocked
  • Providing practical, friendly advice within the scope of the role

HOURS OF WORK

You will be contracted to work 160 hours per 4-week period on a flexible basis, this means that your days and hours of work could vary each week, but you will always receive at least your contracted hours each period.

As our village is open 365 days of the year, your working hours will include weekends, public / bank holidays and during Christmas and / or New Year on a rota basis.

ABOUT YOU

Essential requirements:

  • Good standard of education in English and Mathematics
  • Relevant Occupational Health qualifications or a willingness to undertake the course and exam to obtain the qualification
  • Understand and complies with medical confidentiality and GDPR requirements
  • Have a motivational approach towards colleagues and work
  • Empathetic and supportive approach
  • Communication and influencing skills 

Desirable requirements:

  • IT skills with ability to use Microsoft word and Excel
  • Previous experience of working in an Occupational Health setting
  • Experience in carrying out health surveillance
