The Opportunity

We’re looking for a dynamic and engaging Ecommerce Merchandising Manager to act as the digital champion across internal departments to help drive our Ecommerce growth to the next level. This is a highly influential role that requires someone outgoing, collaborative, and equally comfortable with data, tech, and creativity. You’ll bring teams together, foster strong cross-functional relationships, and proactively drive trading performance across Cotton Traders’ website and App.

In this role, you will take the lead on Ecommerce product launches, site merchandising, reactive trading, and the coordination of supporting content to drive sales. Leveraging management information (MI) and ecommerce technology will be key to your success, enabling you to identify and react to opportunities across the full customer conversion funnel.

Key Responsibilities

Product Launch Management

  • Lead the planning and execution of all product launches across the Website and App, in alignment with our product launch calendar and brand campaigns.
  • Manage collaboration with Product, Marketing, Creative, and Web Development teams to ensure product launches are on-brand and on-time.
  • Guide the Ecommerce Merchandising team in optimising product categorisation, navigation, taxonomy and enrichment to drive product discovery.

Ecommerce Trading

  • Own the UK Ecommerce trading calendar, aligning with product and marketing strategies.
  • Define and implement merchandising strategies to improve key KPIs such as conversion, AOV, and upsell opportunities.
  • Drive reactive trading initiatives in collaboration with internal Product and Creative teams, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Monitor competitor activity and communicate relevant insights to the wider business.

 Ecommerce Content and Marketing Channel support

  • Attend product range presentations, aligning with Product team direction to brief content plans that highlight key product stories, features, and trends.
  • Own and manage the Trading calendar for the Website, App and CRM content ensuring alignment with wider business goals and marketing campaign objectives.
  • Manage Ecommerce team to provide product selections for digital marketing channels, including Performance and CRM channels.
  • Share product performance data and product insights with marketing to inform campaign execution. 

Merchandising & Journey Optimisation

  • Drive the merchandising strategy for key trading technology (e.g. Onsite search, category sorting rules, product recommendations and outfit building), supported by the wider Digital team
  • Contribute to ideation for user journey and personalisation strategy development lead by the Digital Optimisation and Web Development team.

 Team Leadership & Development

  • Set and monitor SMART objectives for the Ecommerce Merchandising team, aligned with business priorities.
  • Promote agile working practices in a fast-paced trading environment.
  • Manage team workload, priorities, and development through regular check-ins and training plans.
  • Provide support to the Head of Digital and deputise when needed.

  • 4+ years Ecommerce Merchandising experience, preferably within an omnichannel fast paced retail environment
  • In depth e-commerce system knowledge from working with platforms such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with agility and accuracy
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm and self-motivation as well as commitment and a willingness to learn
  • Team management experience
