To work in a dynamic growing practice performing the role of IT Audit Manager - Risk & Assurance. In particular, the candidate will help encourage, manage and build the team, and go to market as a team member. They will have a significant role in business development initiatives. There will be opportunities to deal with a fantastic range of clients (especially in the Not for Profit and Pensions sectors) from a central London base.


The Risk & Assurance Group consists of professional and support staff delivering specialist sector specific work in areas of corporate governance, risk management, internal control, internal audit and IT audit. It works in close co-operation with the firm’s External Audit teams especially Not for Profit.

The team themselves have been growing since 2017, doubling in revenues from that time. They have a number of significant and high profile clients in the non profit, pensions and technology sectors.


The principal duties of the IT Audit Manager - Risk & Assurance will be to:

  • Manage client assignments and undertake internal IT audits and other standalone work in accordance with requirements specified by the Partners or Senior Manager
  • Manage client relationships on a day-to-day basis
  • Ensure effective and timely knowledge sharing across the engagement and back to the Firm
  • Respond to requests from assistance for IT audit from other offices and Crowe Horwath International firms
  • Assist with monitoring work flows and resource requirements to ensure efficient use of staff
  • Participate in team meetings and assist with the training of junior staff
  • Carry out research and assist with the development of new services
  • Attend conferences and courses as a representative of the Firm/Group
  • Work as part of a dedicated team to deliver services, and
  • Manage the practice (including invoicing and debtor management).


Specific qualifications that would be desirable include:

  • A recognised IT audit qualification such as CISA, CISPP, or equivalent, and/or
  • A recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE 2, or equivalent.

Demonstrable experience in IT audit, either in practice or industry, and a number of the following areas will also be desirable:

  • Delivery of IT based internal audit, including development of Audit Strategies and annual audit programmes, and the management of the delivery of risk based IT internal audit services
  • Development of IT audit assurance frameworks, IT audit scopes, risk matrices and work papers
  • Delivery of standalone IT audit engagements, including business continuity planning, information governance, data protection (including the General Data Protection Regulations) and cybersecurity
  • Management or performance of the mapping of IT processes and infrastructure
  • Experience with a range of sectors, including not for profit, corporates and pensions.


  • The successful applicant will be a highly-motivated individual and bring creativity to the work they undertake for Crowe. They will be personable when interacting with clients and will be a team player willing to make a positive contribution to a successful Risk and Assurance practice. The ability to work with multiple clients across different sectors is required, as is the ability to produce client-specific recommendations that align to the size, culture and type of organisation under review. Written and oral communication skills are very important. In particular, applicants should be prepared and able to work on multiple ongoing commitments while managing the wider IT Audit team.
  • Analytical skills are essential and the successful applicant should be able to demonstrate attention to detail in his/her own work and in reviewing the work of others. Other attributes to include good all round technical knowledge, commercial acumen, good presentation skills and sound judgement.
  • A high level of IT literacy across standard Microsoft products will be a distinct advantage, as will be the ability to pick up new concepts and new technologies quickly.
  • Some flexibility in working arrangements is desirable as the successful applicant may need to work away from London, within the UK, for short periods of up to one week at a time.
