Derby College Group is seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Operations Technician to play a key role in maintaining and supporting our IT infrastructure and endpoint environment. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic educational institution, ensuring secure and efficient IT service delivery across the organisation.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an IT Support Specialist to deliver day-to-day support for IT systems, endpoints, and user devices. You’ll monitor and maintain infrastructure including servers, networks, and cloud services, assist with software deployment, patching, and updates, and ensure endpoint protection and compliance with security standards. Responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing Active Directory, Group Policy, and user accounts. You’ll collaborate on IT projects and upgrades, document procedures, contribute to IT policy development, and participate in audits while aligning with cyber security frameworks such as Cyber Essentials Plus.

About You

You’ll bring proven IT support experience in medium to large organisations, with strong knowledge of Windows environments, endpoint management, networking, and cloud platforms like Microsoft 365 and Azure. Skilled in troubleshooting and customer service, you work well independently and in teams. Ideally, you hold a degree in IT or Cyber Security, with experience in infrastructure monitoring, PowerShell scripting, and awareness of ITIL and compliance standards.
