We pleased to share an exciting opportunity for a 6month fixed-term position as Head of Construction Technical Excellence College (CTEC). This role offers the chance to lead and develop the CTEC project within the East Midlands, working closely with both internal teams and external partners to drive innovation and meet key DfE objectives. The position is also open to parttime applications.

 

The Opportunity

As Head of the Construction Technical Excellence College (CTEC), you will provide strategic leadership and operational management for the development and delivery of the CTEC project across the East Midlands within DCG. You will take responsibility for meeting all Department for Education (DfE) objectives linked to the programme, working collaboratively with spoke CTEC partners to ensure effective communication, alignment and project cohesion. In this role, you will oversee and achieve a range of targets set by the DfE, the college and employer partners, delivering both internal and external outcomes through innovative approaches that meet the highest quality standards required by external bodies. You will lead on producing comprehensive selfassessment reports to evaluate CTEC activity and performance, while proactively identifying opportunities for growth informed by regional and national intelligence to support the continued advancement and impact of the CTEC initiative.

 

About you

You are an organised and proactive professional who plans, delivers and evaluates activities with accuracy and confidence. You interpret information effectively, analyse situations thoughtfully and recommend clear, practical solutions. Strong communication and influencing skills enable you to work collaboratively and drive positive outcomes, while your ability to prioritise and take ownership ensures deadlines are met and processes are consistently upheld. You bring extensive knowledge of innovative delivery approaches, FE sector initiatives, resource management and vocational developments, with a strong understanding of how wider national and international priorities shape college strategy. Backed by a Level 4+ STEM vocational qualification, you hold or are committed to achieving relevant management, assessment, verification and teaching qualifications.
