Derby College Group (DCG) is recruiting a Teacher of Equine (Maternity Cover) to join our Equine team at the stunning Broomfield Hall campus. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of FE and HE programmes, with a particular focus on riding and practical stable management, including planning, delivery, and assessment.

The Opportunity

As a key member of the Equine team, you will plan, resource, and deliver high-quality teaching and assessment, with responsibility for all FE and HE riding lessons and internal quality assurance. You will support student progress through target setting, performance monitoring, and pastoral support. The role also includes involvement in trips, visits, open days, recruitment activities, and overseeing student work experience to ensure awarding body standards are met.

About you

You’ll have proven equine industry experience and a strong commitment to student achievement and quality. You will be flexible, self-motivated, and confident working in a fast-paced environment. A strong background in rider coaching, horse welfare, groundwork, training, and behaviour is essential. Experience teaching the City & Guilds Level 3 Extended Diploma in Equine Management is desirable. Holding BHS Stage 3 Coach in Complete Horsemanship is essential, alongside up-to-date industry CPD.
