Derby College Group (DCG) are recruiting for a Director of Finance to lead the Finance and Procurement team, a pivotal role that will shape the future of financial management, reporting and compliance at DCG. This role is based at our Ilkeston Campus with attendance at other college campuses in accordance with business needs. The Opportunity

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively across academic and professional services functions to foster greater empowerment, accountability and transparency, creating an environment where the finance team cultivate a culture of financial awareness, continuous improvement and provide the resources required to deliver the college Strategic Objectives.

Having recently received a Good OFSTED rating and with good financial health, the college is experiencing a period of growth and aims to generate a sustainable surplus for reinvestment in our people and our strategic priorities.

Reporting to the CFO and as a key member of the leadership team, as the Director of Finance you will oversee all aspects of financial management and regulatory compliance. You will provide strategic financial planning and ensure robust financial governance.

About you

To excel in this role, you’ll have great communication and interpersonal skills, alongside having strong technical accounting and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide clear, actionable insight.

You will be an experienced leader with strong financial expertise, exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. You will ensure adherence to DCG’s policies, providing guidance to managers and supporting the drive for financial excellence.
