Demand Planner


Demand Planner is an integral role, working within the Demand Planning team. You will be Reporting into the Head of Demand Planning and working to optimise the demand management process for the business product portfolio using the Demand Forecasting tool, complex strategic forecasting and advanced demand analytics all to achieve the groups stock budget and fill rate targets. All while ensuring compliance with the rules of engagement of Inventory, sales, operations, suppliers and stakeholders, both internal and external. Summary of main duties and responsibilities:

  • Through the forecast tool primarily, review the weekly and monthly forecast exceptions at the company’s three main distribution centres. 
  • You will be required to investigate and follow through to conclusion on forecast / MRP queries allocated to you in the dedicated demand planning inbox.
  • As a demand planner you will be a steward of the database, forecasting and MRP modules and make key changes to the database, reporting table, master data and user profiles as well as channel structure maintenance, database back-up / restore and database month end functions.
  • Actively involved within inventory department, strategic forecast and demand planning, annual range review, new product and discontinued processes. Positively reacting to the business needs.
  • Actively seeking out area of improvements to forecast accuracy and safety stocks to optimise stock and maximise service fill rates.    
  • As part of your role, you will be accountable for daily and weekly reporting, using a combination of the forecast tool and Microsoft Excel. You will maintain, evolve and continually innovate reporting for the department and the wider business.


Essential Skills/Abilities

  • Experienced using MS Office
  • Experience within the FMCG environment
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to communicate with a variety of people from multiple teams


  • Educated to graduate level or equivalent
  • Experience with infor demand planning modules
  • Experience in using Demand forecasting and MRP systems.
