Role Specification

Role overview:

This is a 12-month maternity cover role. The role is based mainly in our Normanton head office, with the occasional requirement to work in our Bradford office. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the role is based from home, but the occasional trip to the office is still required to conduct part of the role, so it is important to be based within reasonable travel distance of these offices.

The role reports into the Product Marketing Manager, who is based in Normanton. We are currently a team of 10 people, based out of Normanton and Swindon.

Role Objective:

The Product Marketing Manager and the Product Marketing Executive will work together to plan, coordinate and execute product marketing activity aimed at existing and prospective Banner customers. These roles carry responsibility for coordinating and driving strong, customer-focused, product-led marketing campaigns that maximize sales opportunities, deliver vendor income and deliver a return for that investment.

The executive role, alongside the other members of the Banner Marketing Team, will hold responsibility for representing the Banner brand correctly across all communications, internal and external. This role requires strong project management skills.

Summary of Role Responsibilities:

  • Development, creation and execution of integrated marketing campaigns that encompass activities such as email, web activity, organic and paid social media, sales team follow up and then reporting of return on investment. We aim to analyse all major promotional activity for impact (£-sales, £-GP, conversions). This will include building relationships with supplier partners, internal stakeholders and internal/external marketing agencies.
  • Create and manage strategic and tactical marketing campaigns with a focus on key industry sectors where appropriate. It is key to ensure that all activities align with the business priorities.
  • Initiate and manage the production and distribution of marketing materials for categories. This may include catalogues, content for the corporate website and online ordering platform, emails, brochures and digital catalogues. The priority categories for this role are Technology and Managed Print Services. On occasion you may also be required to support the team on other categories such as Office Products, Furniture, Facilities Supplies, EOS and Print/Promo.
  • This role will be responsible for briefing the design teams (internal and external) with relevant copy, offer information and images to produce innovative and exciting product campaign materials to drive sell out and revenue growth.
  • A key focus will be to extend the reach of our product categories via digital marketing. Expertise to help Banner reach different demographics more effectively, to attract the best traffic, to improve user journeys and to drive increased conversions and revenue is important.
  • The role will include the use of Hubspot marketing automation to deliver sales opportunities and ROI for the supplier.
  • There is a requirement to be a team member that actively contributes and works with the rest of the Banner marketing team to complete strategy, planning and reviews each half year. We aim to represent the Banner brand and ‘with Banner you can’ ethos to develop brand equity and drive positive PR at all times.

Person Specification



  • Experienced in commercially-focused B2B marketing
  • Experience of the implementation of multi-channel integrated marketing campaigns
  • Experience in content writing for email, blogs and social
  • Significant knowledge of all aspects of the marketing mix with good project management and analytical skills


  • Marketing qualification (eg, CIM) or related business degree
  • Experience of Hubspot or similar marketing automation technology
  • Experience of using digital marketing channels to promote products / services




  • Self-starter who is willing to tackle new challenges bringing a positive ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Strong organisational skills and a ‘completer-finisher’
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Creative approach to new campaigns
