Marketing Assistant - Staples.co.uk

We are recruiting for a Marketing Assistant to help to plan, coordinate, and execute product marketing for our online websites, primarily focusing on Staples.co.uk but not withstanding other sites managed. This role carries responsibility for coordinating and carrying out the marketing campaigns that are agreed via the marketing manager to maximise sales opportunities, deliver vendor income, and deliver a return for that income.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

  • Assist in the creation and implementation of key marketing campaigns to drive awareness and increase sales of key brand, Staples UK
  • Liaise with suppliers to carry out the agreed marketing activities that achieve vendor income targets
  • Create any press releases or offline marketing required to support the online channel
  • Work with the marketing and sales teams to ensure all activities align with the business priorities
  • Brief the design team (internal and external) with relevant copy, offer information and images to produce innovative and exciting product campaign materials
  • Liaise with external agencies and contacts to plan and implement activities, including negotiating to get best price possible
  • Drive the timelines for each promotional activity – ensure they go-live and end on schedule
  • Work with the online campaigns team to represent the online channel and drive positive PR
  • Support the identified key brands, to maximise the funding available and return on investment achieved
  • Use marketing technology and social media to maximise sales opportunities and customer experience
  • Work closely with the other members of the marketing team and online campaigns team to deliver cross-category and lifecycle marketing activity
  • Provide any additional support and activity required by the marketing manager and wider ecommerce team.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Experienced in commercially focused B2B marketing
  • Experience of the implementation of multi-channel integrated marketing campaigns
  • Understands key buyer personas and the desired customer journeys
  • Significant knowledge of all aspects of the marketing mix with strong analytical skills

Desirable

  • Marketing or Related Business Degree
  • Experience of marketing automation technology
  • Commercial awareness, for managing budgets, pricing and analysing data
  • Strong organisational skills and a ‘completer-finisher’
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Creative approach to new campaigns
  • Good negotiating and interpersonal skills to facilitate key stakeholder communications and to build strong supplier relationships
  • Ability to be proactive and work alone as well as part of the existing team
  • Numerate, analytical and ability to project-manage tasks to completion
