Cash Collector

EVO Group are recruiting for a Cash Collector to be responsible for maintenance of the Banner Group ledgers ensuring that overdue debt is kept to a minimum and that customer payments are made in a timely and complete manner

These roles will be based between home and the Sheffield office to ensure internal relationships are strong, effective face to face contact is and will continue to be prioritised.  The Cash Collector will also be required to attend the Normanton site on a regular basis so that face to face relationships between departments are nurtured, so that teamwork is built and so that the most challenging problems can be addressed jointly.

Building and maintaining positive relationships is key to effective job performance.  The Cash Collector must be capable of building mutually effective relationships with both customers and colleagues that bring long term benefit for both parties sometimes at the cost of short-term concession. 

The Cash Collector role requires an individual who is comfortable with consistently high volumes of work and a changing organisational environment with proven job specific experience and results.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

  • Daily communication with customers and colleagues prioritising telephone wherever possible;
  • Appropriate prioritisation of task for greatest effect;
  • Pro-active and unsupervised problem solving and account reconciliation;
  • The clear reporting to line management of fundamental process flaws that require improvement so that the root cause of repetitive problems is understood and resolved;
  • Support for the timely and accurate allocation of cash receipts;
  • Work towards daily, weekly and monthly targets for both overdue debt and cash collection and be able to articulately and accurately explain both under and over performance and offer sensible mitigation activities when required
  • Administration duties that support timely payment as required incl. the shared management of our suspense accounts and central administrative request mailbox
  • Any other duties as and when required by management.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Cash collections experience in a B2B environment
  • Experience managing corporate accounts
  • Experience managing low value high volume accounts
  • Strong Excel skills incl. demonstrable experience with common formula’s used in data analysis and reporting
  • An individual who is open to others, makes building relationships easy and readily shares their knowledge
  • Trustworthiness and a willingness to learn
  • Strong listening skills, with the ability to keep an open mind and respond appropriately
  • Excellent commination skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to express yourself clearly, using the appropriate medium.
  • An understanding of the purpose and importance of the role to the company
