Where and when do we need you? 

We are looking for Learning Support & Behaviour Workers at our SEMH School located on the outskirts of Southampton supporting around 20 young people. Our students will have all been identified as having complex and additional needs and as such are better suited to 1:1 or 2:1 learning and will have an individualised curriculum based on their specific needs. Students are placed with Fair Ways when most other mainstream or specialist schools have failed them. As such, they are likely to have been out of education for a long period of time, having exhausted multiple placements.  

In this role you will be involved exciting and rewarding things like: 

  • Supporting the needs of the school on a day-to-day basis including providing support to students both onsite in lessons and offsite in exciting activities. 
  • Contributing to the achievement of the aims and objectives of each student through completing and monitoring the student assessments and participating in the implementation and delivery of each Individual Education Plan. 
  • Supporting the Therapeutic Learning Practitioners or Teachers to deliver outstanding learning opportunities. 
  • Providing a good example and offering suitable support and direction through the demonstration of honest, understanding and proactive behaviour. 
  • Working as part of a supportive and experienced team showing resilience, initiative and adaptability. 

Successful candidates will be working a 22.5 hours per week, term time only on a Monday, Thursday, Friday. 

All candidates must have a full driving license and have access to the use of a car. Successful candidates will be required to provide an enhanced Disclosure (DBS). This disclosure cost will be met by Fair Ways.

  • Have a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Award or equivalent or allow Fair Ways to support you to work towards one.
