Fair Ways, a leading provider of Supported Living homes, is actively seeking compassionate Support Workers for our home in Southampton. Our Post-16 supported living provision consists of a collection of small family homes and can accommodate a number of residents at a time. Each young person has their own private room and shared access to communal areas. Our aim is to provide stability, consistency and acceptance, with the emphasis on young adults being responsible for themselves.

As a support worker for Fair Ways Supported Living, you will be involved exciting and rewarding things like:

  • Individualised Care: Be at the heart of their care plans, focusing on their personal development and well-being. Offer guidance and support in areas such as nutrition, medical needs, hygiene, and help them explore work placements, education, and personal interests.
  • Foster Independence: Empower our residents to become more self-reliant by supporting them in daily tasks within a home setting. Be a catalyst for their growth, helping them transition into independent living.
  • Collaborate and Organise: Act as a key worker, liaising with professionals and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support. Manage administrative tasks efficiently, including accurate record-keeping and reporting.

 

Expectations and requirements:

  • Rota Pattern: Enjoy a weekly rota pattern of 37.5 hours, comprising of early shifts, late shifts, and up to 2 sleep-in shifts per week. This flexible schedule allows for a healthy work-life balance.
  • Experience Requirements: While experience and qualifications are valued, we believe in the potential of individuals from diverse backgrounds. You will be supported to undertake your Level 3 qualification to ensure that the quality of support remains high across the service.   • Driving License: A full driving license and access to a car are essential for this role. You'll have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of residents by providing transportation and support as needed.
  • Enhanced DBS - Successful candidates will be required to complete an enhanced Disclosure (DBS). This disclosure cost will be met by Fair Ways and ensures we can meet our safer recruitment regulations and keep our young people safe.
