Based: Hybrid with regular attendance at our London Office (near Old Street)
Hours: Full-time 35 hrs
Salary: 52,334 per annum

The Centre for Accessible Environments (CAE) is looking for an experienced Senior Access Advisor to join our consultancy team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an established access consultant to take a leading role in delivering high-quality inclusive design consultancy while supporting the development of our growing team. Working across a wide range of sectors, you'll help clients create environments that can be accessed, used and enjoyed by everyone.
As a senior member of the team, you'll combine technical expertise with leadership, delivering consultancy services, mentoring colleagues and contributing to the continued growth of one of the UK's leading inclusive design consultancies.
About the Role
You'll provide expert advice on inclusive design through:
- Access audits and access strategies
- Inclusive design reviews for new developments and refurbishment projects
- Development of inclusive design standards, toolkits and guidance
- Technical advice based on current legislation, Building Regulations, British Standards and recognised good practice
- Quality assurance of consultancy reports and technical outputs
You'll also:
- Provide line management and technical leadership to Access Advisors and support professional development
- Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Contribute to bids, tenders and business development
- Represent CAE through articles, presentations, conferences and industry events
- Help shape new consultancy services in response to emerging client needs
You'll work across housing, heritage, education, workplaces, arts and culture, public buildings and outdoor environments, helping deliver practical, reasonable solutions for more inclusive environments for everyone.
About You
We're looking for someone who is passionate about inclusive design and has strong experience delivering access consultancy services.
You'll ideally have:
- NRAC registration or equivalent professional experience in access consultancy
- Significant experience undertaking access audits, inclusive design reviews and developing access strategies
- Excellent knowledge of the Equality Act, Building Regulations, British Standards and inclusive design guidance
- Experience interpreting architectural drawings and providing practical design advice
- Strong report writing and communication skills
- Experience mentoring, supervising or managing colleagues
- The confidence to work with clients, design teams and stakeholders across a range of sectors
A background in architecture, surveying, construction, housing or another built environment discipline would be advantageous.
