About the Department
The department is comprised of lecturers and tutors working alongside Animal Instructors to provide Further Education students with the knowledge, understanding and practical skills to equip them in moving into the Animal Industry. The animal collection houses over 70 species, all of which students are able to engage with as they prepare for life beyond their programme.
About the Role
- You will be expected to plan and deliver exceptional teaching which will assist students to achieve excellent results, on Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 animal-related courses.
- You will inspire students to appreciate and enjoy Animal Management, instilling in them a passion for the subject and a desire to develop their understanding. You will be required to have experience in delivering a range of units including practical Animal Behaviour and Welfare based units.
- You will be a personal tutor, advising and guiding individuals in their progress, success and career aspirations during group and 1:1 tutorials.
- You will be responsible for the undertaking of assessments, marking and monitoring learner progress.
About You
- Hold a teaching qualification or have a willingness to complete one.
- Possess a degree qualification in Animal Science/Management or similar.
- You will have a thorough knowledge of a wide range of animals and have good links with industry.
- Be a highly motivated lecturer with experience of providing tutorial support to students being advantageous.
- A holder of the A1 Assessors Award (or equivalent) and V1 Internal Verifiers Award (or equivalent) would be desirable.
