Summer Student Placement
During the programme, you will sit with a partner or associate and take on real work for real clients. This will give you a genuine insight into what life is like as a Hassans trainee and how our firm operates day to day.
Most applicants who successfully secure a training contract with Hassans have previously completed a Summer Programme placement with the firm. We view the programme as an extended interview for our training contracts. It provides you with opportunities to showcase your qualities and talents while allowing you to get to know us and enabling us to assess whether you would be a good fit for the firm.
You are eligible to apply if you are:
- undertaking a law degree
- completing a non law degree with the intention of completing a conversion course
- a postgraduate law student
- an applicant who has completed or is currently completing the Bar, GDL or SQE
We also have a limited number of places available for Year 13 students who hold a firm offer to study law commencing in September 2026.
We are looking for applications that are uniquely tailored to Hassans. In the Supporting Information section of the online application form, please tell us:
- which of our practice areas interest you and why
- what interests you about Gibraltar as a jurisdiction
- what you hope to gain from completing a placement with Hassans
The strongest applications are well written and free from spelling and grammatical errors.
The programme is funded and some applicants may receive the funding tax free. When prompted in the online application form, please confirm whether you will be in full time education in September 2026 because:
a) you will be continuing your current course of study or
b) you will be starting a new course such as an undergraduate degree or a postgraduate qualification including the GDL, Bar, SQE or a Master’s degree
We are required to register all Summer Programme placements with the Government of Gibraltar Department of Employment. To do so, we must know where you will be residing during your placement. When prompted in the online application form, please select the option that best describes your accommodation arrangements.
We do accept applications from overseas student and can assist with finding accommodation, but we do not fund accommodation.

We look forward to receiving your application.
