Role purpose

As the firm’s Communications Manager you will plan, execute and oversee all non-digital marketing and activities and effectively promote the firm’s brand and legal services. This role is essential in creating a positive public image for Higgs LLP, building brand awareness and driving business growth. The Communications Manager is responsible for developing and implementing integrated marketing strategies that align with our goals and target clients.

Key responsibilities

  • Creating comprehensive marketing plans aligned with the Higgs’ vision and purpose. This will involve showcasing the firm’s unique selling points and working closely with key stakeholders from across the business
  • Maintaining and promoting the firm’s brand identity, ensuring consistency across all marketing materials, collateral and communications
  • Overseeing the creation of compelling content, including articles, landing pages, case studies, and social media content, that showcase the firm’s expertise and thought leadership
  • Working with external PR function and internal teams to coordinate news worthy content. 
  • Collecting and promoting client testimonials and success stories to build trust and showcase the firm’s track record. Taking the lead in the co-ordination of Legal 500 and Chambers submissions
  • Conducting market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for growth and areas where the firm can differentiate itself
  • Effectively managing the marketing budget, allocating resources effectively to achieve maximum impact and return on investment
  • Monitoring the performance of marketing campaigns and various initiatives using relevant metrics and analytics. Preparing regular reports for the appropriate management Board(s)
  • Working with the business to communicate important updates, achievements, and news internally
  • Working with legal teams to create effective pitches and tenders to win new clients and ensure a consistent and exciting proposition is shared with all prospects

Person specification

  • Ability to be adaptable, creative, and strategic
  • Excellent understanding of (and enthusiasm for!) the firm’s heritage, brand and core values
  • A solutions-oriented and enthusiastic approach to PR and marketing, able to influence and inspire other people

Technical knowledge

  • Ability to analyse campaign performance, interpret data and make data-driven decisions
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills with a proven record of creating compelling content for press releases, blog posts, social media, email campaigns, articles and other marketing materials
  • Experience of creating marketing collateral with tools such as Canva or Adobe suite.
  • Understanding of brand positioning, ensuring consistent messaging and visual identity across all marketing channels
  • Ability to confidently present marketing strategies, campaign results and brand messaging to relevant stakeholders
  • Experience of conducting effective market research to identify client trends and competitor analysis to inform marketing strategies
  • Proficiency in managing marketing budgets and evaluating the return on investment (ROI) of various marketing initiatives
