Role Purpose

The People Coordinator plays a key role in delivering an outstanding employee experience across the full colleague lifecycle within a fast-paced, growing professional services business. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build a career in HR within a modern, ambitious and commercially focused law firm backed by private equity and pursuing an exciting acquisition strategy.

Working closely with the People team, you will support a broad range of core HR activities, including managing the offer and onboarding process, coordinating learning and development initiatives, maintaining people data and supporting day-to-day employee queries. You will gain exposure to a wide variety of HR projects and business priorities, giving you the opportunity to develop your skills quickly and take on responsibility from an early stage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the end-to-end recruitment process, including preparing offers, contracts and onboarding documentation for new joiners.
  • Coordinating onboarding activities to ensure a positive and seamless experience for all new employees.
  • Managing and maintaining accurate employee records and HR systems, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality at all times.
  • Supporting the coordination and administration of learning and development activities, including scheduling training sessions and maintaining attendance records.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for day-to-day people queries, providing a professional and responsive service to colleagues across the business.
  • Assisting with HR processes and cyclical activities, including probation reviews, performance review administration and employee lifecycle changes.
  • Supporting People team projects and initiatives linked to business growth, integration activity and continuous improvement.
  • Working closely with colleagues across the firm to help deliver a positive, collaborative and high-performing people experience.

Essential Criteria

  • Acts with integrity and discretion, recognising the importance of confidentiality when managing personal, client, or firm information (A/I)
  • Ability to accurately record, organise, and maintain client and matter information using appropriate systems, ensuring information is accessible, secure, and supports the team efficiency (A/I)
  • Communicates with clarity, sharing ideas appropriately, listening actively, and contributing to discussions that support effective decision-making and continuous improvement. (A/I)
  • Experience in taking ownership of tasks with responsible time management, attention to detail and professional responsibility. (A/I)

  • Brings a positive attitude and proactive approach to your role, helping to foster a respectful and inclusive workplace. (A/I)

Desirable Criteria

  • Able to demonstrate awareness of our purpose and how the role contributes to wider goals. (I)
  • Previous administrative experience, ideally within HR, professional services or a fast-paced corporate environment.

Technical Know How

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Comfortable using HR systems and technology, with the ability to learn new platforms quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management, reporting and document preparation.
  • Able to produce professional written communications and maintain organised electronic records and files.

*There may be occasional travel within the UK required as part of this role.
