Senior IT Project Manager

Howdens Joinery have an exciting opportunity to join our busy Project Management team as a Senior.

Working on large projects (focussed on SAP and bespoke .net) we are looking for a project manager that is used to working on end-to-end business transformations projects with demonstrable experience driving the project through to delivery.

This is a full time permanent job based from our office in Howden, Yorkshire. You will be expected to work onsite at least 3 days per week with some travel to other offices on an ad hoc basis.

What you will be doing as a Senior IT Project Manager

• Management and mentoring of Project Managers
• Responsible for the overall management, control, and delivery of business-critical IT projects
• Stakeholder management from shop floor/ to senior level
• Integrations to other enterprise systems
• Manage a budget of £1m+ spread across Capex and Opex budgets (forecasting, quotes, timesheets, tracking)
• Deliver Projects on time and to agreed budgets in a fast paced environment
• Responsible for end to end project management, from planning, forecasting, reporting project cost, resource planning, risk/issue management and stakeholder management.
• Manage multi-skilled teams made up of internal, partner and contract resources

What we need from you:

• End-2-End project management of 2 or more large business transformation projects delivered within a minimum of 18 months.
• Experience managing systems projects (ideally SAP and / or bespoke .net)
• Stakeholder management
• Management of a multi-skilled team made up of internal, partner and contract resources
• Expert in project planning, control techniques and tools
• Must have ability to plan and balance resource and technical dependencies
• Expert in MS Project - durations, work, over and under allocation of resources, task constraints
• Team player, proven ability to lead from the front and not be afraid to roll-up their sleeves and get stuck in
• Expert in MS Project Professional ideally connected to MS Project Online.
• Project management qualifications (e.g., Prince 2 or PMI, MBA) preferred.
• Highly organised and driven with a can-do attitude, able to work to deadlines and motivate others to hit milestones.
• Flexible managing between different methodologies (waterfall, agile, hybrid)
• Able to keep calm when working under pressure and / or to tight deadlines
• You will be an excellent communicator & planner with gravitas and credibility to work with senior business managers.
