Trade Counter Sales and Telesales Business Developer

This role is located at the Howdens branch in Hook, Hampshire.  

As a Trade Counter Sales and Telesales Business Developer, you will play a dual role, combining face-to-face customer interaction at the trade sales counter with proactive outreach via phone and email. This dynamic position requires a customer-focused individual with strong sales and organisational skills to support the growth and success of Howdens.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Engagement: Act as the face of Howdens, providing outstanding service and support to trade customers at the sales counter. Proactively contact new and existing trade customers via telephone and email to strengthen relationships and identify upselling opportunities.
  • Sales Generation: Process customer sales, ensuring accurate pricing, stock availability, and delivery requirements. Work collaboratively with the wider sales team to generate leads and help achieve depot targets.
  • Account Management: Manage customer accounts with care and professionalism, fostering long-term relationships and contributing to customer base expansion.
  • Product Knowledge: Stay updated on product ranges and industry trends to offer informed recommendations and solutions to customers.
  • Administrative Support: Provide support to the depot team, including scheduling appointments for Kitchen Sales Designers and assisting with lead generation alongside Territory Sales Representatives.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintain a well-organised and efficient trade sales counter while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations in a fast-paced environment.
