Information Security Analyst - ISO

Howdens Joinery are looking for an Information Security Analyst with an ISO expertise to join our Security team who are based at our office in Brackmills Business Park, Northamptonshire.

This role offers an InfoSec Analyst the opportunity to Lead the development and maintenance for ISO27001 certification through the Information security management system (ISMS).

This is a permanent position based onsite at least 3 days per week with 2 days from home.

What will I be doing as Information Security Analyst - ISO?

  • Leading the development and maintenance for ISO27001 certification through the Information security management system (ISMS), this includes building on previous work to ensure the framework is fully implemented to provide a solid foundation for Cyber Security within Howdens 
  • With regular communication activities you will raise awareness across the IT function of ISO27001 requirements.
  • Produce meaningful and timely status updates and communicate to all stakeholders
  • Continue to embed a risk management approach of ISO27001 across all IS departments
  • Contribute and assist the Head of Cyber Security with development of management review activities
  • Develop, implement and monitor security policy, standards and guidelines appropriate to business, technology and legal requirements and in accordance with best professional and industry practice
  • Act as a champion to promote and raise awareness of Information Security best practice and ensure compliance to security policy
  • Record and monitor control gaps identified to support the IS Teams in addressing any gaps
  • Promotes the cyber security within the organisation and closely associated organisations, such as suppliers and partners, and actively campaigns for appropriate action
  • Engage with external organisations working with Howdens to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of Howdens information is maintained

Key skills and experience required:

  • ISO27001 Lead Implementor or Audit qualification
  • Hold recognised Cyber Security qualification (CISA, CISMP, CISM or equivalent
  • Technical Operations Security experience with an interest to work within a governance role or experience working in a Security Governance role
  • Ability to assess system controls based on a documented standard
  • Will be able to demonstrate ability in problem analysis and resolution
  • Strong communication skills to be able to influence best practice at all levels of the organisation, with the ability to explain technical problems to non-technical business stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to build effective relationships to influence and negotiate business outcomes
  • Experience of working with and presenting findings to Senior Stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills to be able to influence security best practice at all levels of the organisation
