Electrical Engineer

We are recruiting an Electrical Engineer to join our team based at Howdens Worksurfaces, our solid surface production facility in Holme-on-Spalding-Moor East Yorkshire. This role will support proactive/preventative maintenance of our manufacturing equipment, services, utilities, and improvement projects and provide support to reactive breakdown maintenance as required.

The ideal candidate could have either completed an engineering apprenticeship or have relevant engineering qualifications with proven manufacturing or industrial experience. Additionally, a good understanding of manufacturing processes within an FMCG environment.

Pay rate: £53,023.24 per annum (Inclusive of basic rate, shift & disturbance allowance)

Shift pattern: 3-week rolling shift pattern, days and nights. Every Saturday off. For each three-week block, 11 days in work, 10 days off.

What would you be doing as an Electrical Engineer:

  • Proactive and preventative maintenance
  • Reactive breakdown maintenance
  • Continual improvement projects
  • Ownership and development of specific production line maintenance
  • Supporting and engaging with lean manufacturing

Key skills and experience required for the Electrical Engineer:

  • Experienced in maintaining multi-axis CNC manufacturing machinery, including edge polishers and extraction plants.
  • PUWER experience would be desirable
  • 2391 Testing & Inspection Advantageous
  • Lean Six Sigma Advantageous
  • Knowledge and experience of Siemens s7 PLC, PLC, Pilz Safety PLC, and PLC would be desirable
  • Fault finding, root-cause analysis and corrective actions 
  • Experience of computerised maintenance management systems
  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering is essential
