General Operator (Factory 5)

We are recruiting General Operators to join the team at our manufacturing site in Howden, East Yorkshire (Factory 5).

Shift Pattern: Rotating days and nights 10-hour shifts (Monday to Thursday)

Pay rate: £34,509.80 basic salary + shift allowance

Excellent people and communication skills are essential to this role as you will be expected to communicate well across teams to ensure the daily production schedule is achieved, and any quality issues or machine breakdowns are escalated.    

What you’ll be doing:

• Performing machine/process pre use safety checks
• Working with Machine Operators to ensure the line is empty allowing lines to continue running
• Remove scrap from all lines, keeping areas clean
• Scanning product into areas where required
• Loading/unloading of trailer for deliveries
• Manually feeding the correct product to the correct lines when required
• Safe movement of stock, palletising strapping and wrapping to ensure safe movement

What you’ll need:

• Previous experience and knowledge of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and understand manual handling risk assessments
• IOSH Working Safely or equivalent would be desirable
• MHE experience preferred but not essential
