Inspire Music is seeking to recruit enthusiastic and skilled music teachers to support the delivery of the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Music Education Hub's core programmes, including Whole Class Ensemble Teaching (WCET), small-group instrumental tuition, and music workshops.

Whilst part of the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Music Education Hub, Inspire Music primarily delivers services within Nottinghamshire County schools and educational settings. As a county-wide service, teachers may work across Nottinghamshire, although we aim to take geographical location into account when building teaching commitments wherever possible.

We welcome applications from teachers who can deliver high-quality tuition across their instrumental family, particularly those able to teach more than one instrument.

Priority Instrument Specialisms

Whilst applications are welcomed from teachers across all instrumental families, we are particularly keen to hear from candidates with expertise in:

  • Double Reed (Oboe, Cor Anglais and Bassoon)
  • Upper Strings (Violin and Viola)
  • Lower Strings (Cello and Double Bass)

Candidates should specialise in at least one of the instruments listed above and demonstrate strong pedagogical knowledge across the wider instrumental family. We are particularly interested in applicants who can support teaching across multiple instruments within their specialism.

These are priority areas for recruitment, and candidates with experience teaching these instruments in individual, small-group, and whole-class settings are especially encouraged to apply.

Inspire offers a workplace pension to all employees. Eligible teaching staff within the Inspire Music Teaching Service will have access to the Teachers' Pension Scheme.

Successful candidates will become part of the Inspire Music teaching team, with opportunities to begin work as soon as all checks have been completed. As teaching commitments are allocated according to school demand, geographical location, and instrument specialism, some roles may commence later in the academic year, including Spring Term 2027.

As part of the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Music Education Hub, Inspire Music delivers high-quality music education opportunities to children and young people across Nottinghamshire County. Our teachers work in a wide range of educational settings, helping pupils develop musical skills, confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of music.

We welcome applications from experienced music educators and those looking to develop their teaching career within a supportive, collaborative, and forward-thinking music service.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.  As such, this post will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
