There has never been a better time to join Inspire Learning’s Administration Team.

We face new and rewarding challenges as we prepare for the implementation of a brand new Management Information System for Inspire Learning (delivered by Tribal/EBS) and also prepare to introduce new administration systems to meet the (as yet unknown) reporting requirements for our Adult Skills Fund provision that will be introduced by the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) as they take over the responsibility to managing the ASF from the Department for Education/Education and Skills Funding Agency from the start of the 2025/26 Academic Year from the 1st August onwards.

In addition to joining the crucial Inspire Learning Data Administration Team, this post will be based at the Newark Buttermarket.

The post will be responsible for supporting the Centre Manager (Clare Janes) and ensuring that the centre is operating effectively and that all visitors/contractors etc are greeted and assisted as appropriate.

An opportunity has arisen to join the Education Library Service playing a key role in delivering our resource and advice services to schools supporting pupils’ curriculum needs and promoting reading for pleasure. Our Library Assistants are vital, providing a welcoming first point of contact for customers. Day to day you can expect to be responding to a range of enquiries, discharging and shelving books, stock editing and selection and assisting with financial administration. There is an element of manual handling in this post.

We’re looking for an individual with excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to deal with a variety of customers both in person, via email and on the phone.

You will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated, organised and energetic individual who is able to work alone as well as part of a team. You will have an interest in children’s literature and education.

Working 19.5 hours per week. Hours of work are Tuesday & Wednesday 9.30am – 5pm and Thursday 10.30am – 6pm (9.30am – 5pm in school holidays) each week.

Overview:

Nottinghamshire Archives are seeking a Principal Archivist to lead in the delivery of all aspects of collections development and management in order to enable the service to manage its collections efficiently and effectively, ensuring that they are fully accessible to customers, in line with recognised accreditation and statutory standards. The postholder will work with a range of customers, volunteers and stakeholders and develop and deliver a programme of exhibitions, events and activities to increase awareness and use of the archives.

Reporting to the Heritage Services Manager the postholder will lead a team of archivists and archive officers in delivering frontline services, engagement, and digital preservation working closely with colleagues across the wider heritage team including our conservation, local studies and records management teams ensuring the service is inclusive and responsive to customer needs.

Nottinghamshire Archives is an Accredited Archive Service, and part of Inspire: Culture, Learning and Libraries. We hold over 5 million archives for Nottingham city and Nottinghamshire county dating back to the 12th century and are committed to offering a wide range of services designed to preserve Nottinghamshire’s archival heritage and to foster and develop interest in archives.

We are looking for an experienced archivist with a postgraduate archival qualification, knowledge of archival standards, experience of cataloguing and archival cataloguing software such as Calm, a flexible, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to teamwork, experience of successful bid writing and excellent project management and communication skills. Attention to detail, time management and organisational skills are also essential.

Working 37 hours per week including some weekend and evening working, the postholder will be based at Nottinghamshire Archives in Nottingham. The ability to travel across the county by your own means is essential.
