We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, energetic and reliable person to join our team based at The Old Library Arts Centre as a Building Officer.

The successful candidate will be flexible, conscientious, self-motivated, with the ability to organise their own work, work as part of a team and be able to offer a variety of practical skills. Proven customer service skills are also key, with the ability to liaise effectively with contractors, suppliers and customers, especially young people.

This post is responsible for the day-to-day building tasks of a Grade II listed building, including opening the building, assisting with regular building checks, and weekly tests.  The role also includes preparing meeting rooms ready for hire, moving furniture, general janitorial and cleaning duties carried out to a high standard.  This post works alongside an evening Building Officer and plays a key role in ensuring The Old Library is a safe and appealing place to work in and visit.

This is a physical role, with some working at height. The post is a keyholder and will be on call as the first point of contact, for security/emergency services, out of office hours. The successful candidate must, therefore, be able to travel to the premises quickly.  A local address would be advantageous. A basic ability to use computers is desirable. 

Timetable: 18.5 hours per week working 8am to 12pm Monday to Thursday, 8am to 10.30am Friday

Postholder may be required to work evenings and weekends on a rota basis.

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, energetic, and reliable person to join our team at Beeston Library as Building Officer.

The successful candidates will be flexible, conscientious, self-motivated and be able to offer a variety of practical skills.

Duties include opening & locking up, setting up of rooms, some basic IT work, ensuring high levels of cleanliness in the building, basic maintenance and playing a key role in ensuring that Beeston Library is a safe and appealing place to work in and to visit.  Good Customer service is also required.

Beeston library does have some events scheduled until 10pm and so flexibility would be required to help with these, and other evening room hires that happen mainly on Tuesdays and occasional Fridays.

We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and reliable person to join our team at West Bridgford Library.

We are looking for someone who can offer a variety of practical skills and is friendly, flexible, conscientious, and self-motivated.  

It is important that our customers have a positive experience at West Bridgford Library, and all our staff contribute towards making this happen.  Working alongside two other Building Officers, duties are varied and include opening & locking up, assisting with regular building checks, and weekly tests, maintaining high levels of cleanliness in the building, basic maintenance and playing a key role in ensuring that West Bridgford Library is a safe and appealing place to work in and to visit. 

The ability to liaise effectively with contractors, suppliers and customers of all ages is key and a basic ability to use computers is desirable.

Inspire’s Adult Learning programme continues to grow as we strive to meet the needs of our communities across Nottinghamshire.

We are looking for excellent adult educators to come and join our team as sessional tutors, delivering our IT and Digital Skills programme.

We are particularly looking for tutors able to deliver any of the following accredited and non-accredited courses from beginner level upwards: • Digital Functional Skills • New and Emerging Digital Technologies (ChatGPT, eSports, Canva, mindmaps, etc) • Microsoft Office • Basic computer and internet skills • Social media and content creation • Useful online tools (money saving, cashback apps, banking, shopping, selling, streaming, voice assistants, etc) • Coding • Photo and video editing • Web page, 3D, games and app design • UX/UI

You will be well qualified, skilled in your field, an excellent communicator and inspiring tutor.

We think that our Library Customer Service Advisors are at the heart of our library service, and we have a great opportunity to join our small team at Ravenshead Library.

We’re looking for someone with excellent customer service skills who loves helping others and who would welcome the chance to inspire people of all ages to read, learn and enjoy culture. Our libraries offer a wide range of services and you will make sure that everyone’s experience with us is a positive one.

You will be enthusiastic, self-motivated, energetic and proactive in looking for ways to develop and improve library services and outcomes for customers. You will also be committed to supporting the delivery of arts, cultural and learning services delivered through libraries.

You will have experience of working with the public in either a paid or voluntary capacity and be able to work using your own initiative as well as part of a team. You will also have experience of using computers and should be able to use ICT competently and safely. An interest in and knowledge of public library services, plus an interest in broader culture and learning are essential requirements for this post.

The two week timetable is: Wk1 Tues 1.30-6.00, Thurs 1.30-6.00; Wk2 Tues 1.30-6.00, Thurs 1.30-6.00, Sat 9.00-12.30

We think that our Weekend Library Assistants are an essential support for our library service, and we have a great opportunity for you to join the team at West Bridgford Library. 

We’re looking for a dynamic and flexible individual with excellent customer service skills who loves helping others and who would relish the chance to inspire people to read, learn and enjoy culture.  

Weekends at West Bridgford Library are busy, and so you will be enthusiastic, self-motivated, energetic, and proactive in looking for ways to develop and improve library services and outcomes for customers. You will also be committed to supporting the delivery of arts, cultural and learning services delivered through libraries.

Working with the public in either a paid or voluntary capacity is desirable, and it is expected that you would be able to work using your own initiative as well as part of a team. You will also have experience of using computers and should be able to use ICT competently and securely. An interest in and knowledge of public library services, plus an interest in broader culture and learning are essential requirements of this post. 

As a Weekend Library Assistant, no two days would be the same. You may be helping someone to book tickets to one of our events, print their CV, or choose their perfect book to read. Our libraries offer a wide range of services, and you will make sure that everyone’s experience with us is a positive one.
