We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the Inspire Libraries Early Years Team as an Early Years Development Worker.

The role supports the development, delivery, and promotion of library services for children aged 0 – 4, and their families, across Nottinghamshire including the Bookstart programme.

Working directly with children and their families in libraries and in community settings including Family Hubs, nurseries and parent and toddler groups you will support and encourage book sharing, promote library use to help inspire a love of books and reading from the earliest years. You will be an advocate for the Bookstart programme, early literacy and libraries and work closely with partners across Inspire and in early years, education and health.

Recent experience of working with young children and their families in a library, education or childcare setting is essential. A relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent is also required. You will have excellent communication skills, organisational abilities and an enthusiasm and commitment to the ethos and principles of Bookstart and the public library service. 

Working 26 hours per week, including occasional weekend working the postholder will be based at Mansfield Central Library, with home working supported. Working pattern will be agreed with the successful candidate. The post involves travel countywide to libraries and community venues.

Nottinghamshire Archives are seeking a Principal Archivist to lead in the delivery of all aspects of collections development and management in order to enable the service to manage its collections efficiently and effectively, ensuring that they are fully accessible to customers, in line with recognised accreditation and statutory standards.

The postholder will work with a range of customers, volunteers and stakeholders and develop and deliver a programme of exhibitions, events and activities to increase awareness and use of the archives. Reporting to the Heritage Services Manager the postholder will lead and manage a team of staff in delivering frontline services, engagement, and digital preservation working closely with colleagues across the wider heritage team including our conservation, local studies and records management teams ensuring the service is inclusive and responsive to customer needs.

Nottinghamshire Archives is an Accredited Archive Service, and part of Inspire: Culture, Libraries and Learning. We hold over 5 million archives for Nottingham city and Nottinghamshire county dating back to the 12th century and are committed to offering a wide range of services designed to preserve Nottinghamshire’s archival heritage and to foster and develop interest in archives.

We are looking for an experienced archivist with a postgraduate archival qualification, knowledge of archival standards, experience of cataloguing and archival cataloguing software such as Calm. Experienced in staff management, you will be able to work alongside different Inspire services to lead our colleagues to deliver a high quality, integrated service offer. You should have a flexible, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to teamwork, experience of successful bid writing and excellent project management and communication skills. Attention to detail, time management and organisational skills are also essential.

Working 37 hours per week including Saturdays (by rota) and occasional evening working, the postholder will be based at Nottinghamshire Archives in Nottingham. The ability to travel across the county by your own means is essential.
