Inspire is seeking an archivist to join the team at Nottinghamshire Archives.
It is an exciting time to join as we embark upon a significant programme of digitisation and increased digital access. At Inspire we are dedicated to ensuring that everyone can engage with the Nottinghamshire story. We deliver the service on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council. Holding over 5 million archives dating back over 800 years we are the record office for both the county and the city of Nottingham, and for the Church of England Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham.
Your work will be varied and will involve supporting customers and our team of archive officers. This role has line management responsibilities for an archive officer. You will also contribute to our youth volunteer engagement programme, our digital programme and to our records management service, particularly the appraisal of council records.
You will have good communication, organisation and teamworking skills. The ideal candidate will be capable of working on their own initiative and have experience of supervision. This post is based between our archives base in the city of Nottingham and our records centres in Nottingham and Ollerton. Therefore, a driving licence and access to a car is essential. This post is not suitable for home working.
We are looking for someone with a qualification in archives management and experience of working in an archive. Current students on a relevant archive course are welcome to apply.

We think that our Library Customer Service Advisors are at the heart of our library service, and we have a great opportunity for you to join our Beeston Library team.
We’re looking for a friendly, self-motivated, and enthusiastic person with excellent customer service skills who loves helping others and who would relish the chance to inspire people to read, learn and enjoy culture.
You will be enthusiastic, self-motivated, energetic, and proactive in looking for ways to develop and improve library services and outcomes for customers. You will also be committed to supporting the delivery of arts, cultural and learning services delivered through libraries. You will have experience of working with the public including working with children in either a paid or voluntary capacity and be able to work using your own initiative as well as part of a team. You will also have experience of using computers and should be able to use ICT competently and securely.
An interest in and knowledge of public library services, plus an interest in broader culture and learning are essential requirements of this post.
There are many facets to this role and as a Library Customer Service Advisor, no two days would be the same. You may be delivering a fun session to under 5’s and their parents/carers; helping someone fill in a job application or helping to choose their perfect book to read. Our libraries offer a wide range of services, and you will make sure that everyone’s experience with us is a positive one.
