About the role

This is an important quality assurance role dedicated to improving teaching, learning, and assessment across our gas and plumbing provision. As an IQA Officer (Gas), you’ll support apprentices to thrive by carrying out robust and well-informed internal quality assurance activities throughout the apprenticeship journey.

You’ll work closely with Tutors, Training Officers, and the wider Quality and Delivery Teams across the south, west and eastern region of England to ensure that quality assurance isn’t just a tick-box exercise, but a meaningful process that leads to better outcomes. From sampling evidence and observing delivery to coaching colleagues and leading standardisation, you’ll play a pivotal part in raising the standard of training across our gas and plumbing programmes.

With a strong technical understanding of the sector, you’ll act as a subject matter expert, supporting the Quality Improvement Manager with technical advice, coaching, and input into wider quality improvement activity.

Whether you’re completing monthly sampling plans, preparing for EQA visits, or providing feedback to staff, your insight and expertise will make a direct impact on apprentices’ learning and development—helping them achieve, succeed, and grow in confidence.

About you:

You’ll be an experienced and qualified internal quality assurer with a passion for supporting others to deliver high-quality training. With a Level 4 IQA qualification and a solid track record of improving teaching, learning, and assessment, you’ll understand how to drive quality in a supportive and practical way.

You’ll bring deep technical knowledge in domestic gas and plumbing, along with the confidence to advise colleagues and contribute to wider curriculum discussions. Your ability to analyse sampling outcomes, mentor staff, and engage with stakeholders will be key to your success in this role.

A team player and strong communicator, you’ll enjoy working collaboratively to maintain compliance and raise standards. You’ll have an eye for detail, a proactive approach, and the ability to juggle quality assurance responsibilities across a wide geographical area.
