Internal Role Title: Neighbourhood Services Manager (Projects & Relief) – Supported & Retirement Living 

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday 

Salary: £31,977 to £39,971 per annum plus car allowance of £2,272 per annum (salary offered dependent on experience) 

Contract: Permanent 

Location: Maldon, Essex / Agile 

We’re on the lookout for an experienced housing professional to join our friendly Neighbourhoods team in Maldon! 

Acting as an ambassador for Moat, you’ll deliver a high-quality housing management service to our residents. You’ll be key to building trust, improving resident satisfaction and ensuring that our estates are safe and maintained to a high standard.

Your experience of working with managing agents will ensure our contracts are utilised to their maximum potential, making positive improvements to the communities we serve.

You’ll report to the Neighbourhood Operations Manager, and have other Neighbourhood Services Managers on your team, enabling you to support each other and share knowledge/experiences. 

We support agile working, so you’ll be provided all IT equipment to work flexibly between your home and the office.

Entry Requirements:

  • A good standard of education, with excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Demonstrable experience of housing management contracts, tenancy, and lease agreements.
  • A good understanding of Landlord and Tenant legislation and procedure.
  • A good understanding of welfare benefits, particularly Housing Benefits.
  • An excellent understanding of occasions that require liaison with Social Services (e.g child protection, domestic violence).
  • A willingness to study for ARLA, IRPM, or CIH-related qualification at NVQ L3, if not already qualified.
  • Access to transport and a Full UK Driving Licence. Willing to be seconded to any Moat location to provide cover as necessary. This may be for short stays of a few days, or for more extended periods.
  • An ability to undertake work outside of normal office hours to meet the needs of the business.

It's desirable, but not essential to have: 

  • ARLA, IRPM, and CIH-related qualifications to NVQ L3 or equivalent.
  • A high level of digital competency skills
  • A sound knowledge of Landlord and Tenant legislation and best practice, supported by practical experience.
  • A knowledge of effective strategies available in the management of ASB, supported by practical experience.
  • A sound knowledge of community engagement strategies and techniques supported by practical application.
  • An awareness of end-of-development processes and defect rectification processes and procedures.
  • A sound knowledge of Housing Benefits.
  • A good understanding of building maintenance and repair.
