Senior Support Worker (New Starter Lead)

Our friendly Bideford Residential home Kingsley House is currently looking for a passionate, committed and experienced Senior Support Worker - New Starter Lead to join their team to support autistic adults.

This role will ensure that all new staff have the support they require to execute their job role to the best of their ability. You will be there from day 1 to support new employees and will support them all the way through until the completion of their probation period.

Being a Senior Support Worker - New Starter Lead takes bravery, patience and commitment. But working with autistic people gives so much more in return.

This is a 39 hour a week vacancy. Your working pattern will be varied over a seven-day rota, and would include some weekends and bank holidays.

Hourly rate: £14.20 per hour, £14.70 per hour after passing probationary period

The role includes:

  • Support new employees from day 1 and all the way through until completion of their probation period
  • Helping individuals achieve independence and personal goals
  • Supporting and transporting individuals to integrate into the community
  • Develop individuals’ life skills, vocational, educational and creative skills
  • Help provide exercise, leisure and recreational opportunities
  • Transforming lives and achieving results for Autistic Adults
  • Play a supporting role in the development and maintenance of excellent relations with people we support and their relatives and advocates.

You will have a working knowledge of care standards and related legislation and have good report writing skills. You should be able demonstrate how you are able to lead and motivate a team to reach agreed outcomes and uphold the values of the organisation.

You should have a relevant Level 3 qualification or be willing to work towards within a given time period. You must be willing to work flexibly.

To protect our autistic adults, all staff are required to have a criminal background check. Possession of an Enhanced DBS Check either on the Update Service or conducted within the last 12 months would be preferable but not essential.
