Associate Director - Asset Management & Maintenance

 

The opportunity:

In this role, you will work within a small team of highly experienced rail professionals reporting into the Regional Director. You will be the subject matter expert in Asset Management and Maintenance with our clients and be required to deliver customer-focused solutions, across a diverse project-based rail business. In conjunction with the Regional Director, you will participate in sales calls as the subject matter expert in Asset Management and Maintenance.

This role will be based full-time in Toronto, Canada

The successful candidate will have significant railway Asset Management and Maintenance knowledge and demonstrated experience leading complex rail projects.

 

What you will be involved in:

  • Lead Asset Management and Maintenance needs analysis and development with knowledge of Life Cycle Cost (LCC) modelling.
  • Lead the development and analysis of system requirements.
  • Planning and conduct of verification & validation/test & evaluation activities/programs.
  • Integration of engineering activities across the Asset/Life Cycle Cost.
  • Identify specific business development and strategic growth initiatives / opportunities for the team resulting in stronger client relationships, increased revenue, and work for the team.
  • Actively involved in the preparation of bids taking responsibility for scoping, pricing, and all technical aspects of bids.
  • Deliver projects to a standard and in a manner that increases the likelihood of us being sole-sourced for the next opportunity.
  • Provide advice to clients based on your technical skills and knowledge (with support from team members including technical reviewers).
  • Commitment to client relationship development and management.
  • Quality deliverables & timely delivery of projects and reports.
  • ‘Big picture’ appreciation – holistic approach to managing infrastructure – through linking skillsets from across the NRC business to deliver integrated solutions to our clients.

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential

  • Degree in relevant subject area or equivalent.
  • Proven track record in implementing operational performance improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external staff.
  • Proven ability to translate client needs into working solutions.
  • Build sustainable relationships with customers, identifying and developing opportunities and managing these through to new work.

Desirable

  • Membership of relevant professional body.
  • Expertise in engineering management in a safety-critical industry.
  • Asset Management Qualifications.
  • Experience of using Enterprise Asset Management Systems (such as Ellipse, Maximo, SAP) in the rail sector an advantage.
