About the role:

Building on our continued success and growth, NRC Australia is creating an experienced team for a suite of major rail infrastructure projects in New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland.

We currently have an exciting full-time opportunity for an Asset Management & Maintenance Technical Specialist to join our growing team based in Brisbane, QLD.

In this role, you will work across a diverse project-based business, acting as an interface in the delivery of services and providing technical Asset Management and Maintenance input, support, and advice across a range of internal projects/programs and client assignments.

What you will be involved in:

  • Lead Operational & Maintenance needs analysis and development with knowledge of transport Life Cycle Cost (LCC) modelling.
  • Support Operational & Maintenance needs analysis and development with knowledge of transport assets and best practices.
  • Developing and writing maintenance manuals, standards, and procedures.
  • Support the development and analysis of system requirements.
  • Support the conduct of verification & validation/test & evaluation activities/programs.
  • Provide technical support for engineering activities across the Asset/Life Cycle Cost.
  • Provide technical support the bid / project delivery manager (e.g., tender or project or task manager) for the successful delivery of bids / projects / tasks (in terms technical content).
  • Support delivery of projects to ensure technical requirements are understood and delivered needing the client needs.
  • Support the team providing technical advice and potential cost-effective solutions to enable the business to deliver on the client requirements.
  • Support in the quality deliverables & timely delivery of projects and reports.

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Knowledge of the rail industry and an understanding or railway infrastructure assets.
  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area or extensive experience.
  • Experienced in implementing operational performance improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external staff.
  • Ability to translate client needs into working solutions.
  • Ability to work across multiple projects at the same time.
  • Proficient in building positive relationships with senior stakeholders and technical subject matter experts.
  • Strong IT proficiency – including MS Office applications and developed report writing skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience of using Enterprise Asset Management Systems (such as Ellipse, Maximo, SAP) in the rail sector is an advantage.
  • Membership of relevant professional body.
  • Experienced in engineering management in a safety critical industry.
  • Asset Management Qualifications.
