About the role
Due to continued growth, we are hiring a Marketing Assistant to join us permanently as we expand our presence in Toronto and across Ontario. Based in our downtown office, you will support our Canadian consulting team with the development of client account plans, marketing collateral, bid submissions, and the accurate maintenance of records in our CRM system (we use Salesforce).
This is a great opportunity for someone with prior marketing experience who’s ready to take the next step, gaining more responsibility, ownership, and the chance to contribute to integrated marketing efforts within a global rail consulting business.
Key Responsibilities
Day to day, you will be doing the following:
- Conducting market research, including tracking clients’ capital expenditure plans, analysing consultancy spend, and performing competitor analyses.
- Supporting the development and regular updating of key client account plans.
- Managing all regional marketing materials, including website content, brochures, and posters, in collaboration with our marketing team in the UK.
- Maintaining consistent and up-to-date Canadian content for expressions of interest and proposals, including company information, CVs, project descriptions, and the photographic library.
- Supporting the preparation of pre-qualification questionnaires, requests for quotations, and other submission documents.
- Assisting in the creation of bid capture plans and collaborating with team members to develop strategies for pursuing new opportunities.
- Supporting Bid Managers with bid documentation, including preparing organisation charts, flow diagrams, and presentation materials.
- Organising exhibitions and events, and representing us at exhibition stands when required.
- Ensuring all registration file documents are current and well-maintained.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date information in Salesforce, including account ownership, contact details, and account records, through regular audits.
About you
We expect you to have the following types of skills and experience:
- Professional qualification in marketing or graphic design.
- Proficient IT user, comfortable working with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud - particularly Adobe InDesign.
- Solid written and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with web-based content management systems.
- Self-motivated with a proactive attitude.
- Responsive and dependable.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and meeting tight deadlines.
- Team-oriented with a collaborative approach.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Although not essential, it would be an advantage if you had:
- Experience in a previous role with Salesforce.
- A degree in Marketing or Graphic Design.
- Experience working either in-house (client-side) within a marketing or communications team.
- Previous experience working in a consulting firm.
