About the role

We are hiring for a Document Controller to join our consultancy team in Sydney. This role is a fixed term contract (FTC) position for 12 months with scope for a further extension based on the requirements of our client.

In this role, you will play an important role managing and controlling documents related to a complex signalling infrastructure programme. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional with long-term career aspirations to thrive in a PMO function.

Day to day, you can expect to be doing things like:

  • Controlling and coordinating the storage of evidence and reporting related to the programme.
  • Providing an accurate, timely and responsive service, including registering and handling all incoming and outgoing correspondence and documentation.
  • Ensuring effective document and data control occurs according to client requirements.
  • Registering, filing, retrieving and transmitting engineering documentation.
  • Maintaining facilities and databases to ensure efficient operation of the document control function.
  • Supporting the production of the project documentation management and maintain it.
  • Controlling documentation uniformity. For example, making sure the correct templates are being used.
  • Organising, attending and participating in a variety of stakeholder meetings and workshops
  • Improving document control process and ensuring document control processes are being adopted by members on the projects
  • Championing best practises in document control.
  • Providing administrative support as needed, reviewing and preparing project outputs and reporting.
  • Building strong client relationships across client assignments.

About you

  • Relevant professional experience in document control;
  • Knowledge of Electronic Document Management Systems, such as Team Binder or RM8; 
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
  • A genuine desire for a career in the rail consulting sector;
  • Capable of handling different tasks, responsibilities and tight schedules;
